Another month has come and gone, and it seems like the year is flying by already. As a youth minister, this time of year signaled the beginning of the busy season. As a lead minister, the busy season never seems to stop. I am taking steps to slow down and simply my life in order to make more room for Christ.

The past month has been a packed one for my family and for my church. We hosted Creation Truth Foundation at the beginning of the month, and the week went very well. That even came in the middle of a sermon series that looked at a series of Portraits of Christ in the New Testament, and fit right in, describing Jesus as Creator.
Easter weekend was also an incredible time. It was our first Easter with our new church, and we loved the celebration with our church family.
May brings much more with it than just flowers. My oldest daughter will celebrate a birthday this month, and with Mother’s Day and a few other family events, May promises to be great.
In case you missed them, here are my top seven posts for the month of April:
- 6 Characteristics Of A Good Communicator
- The Difference Between Purpose, Vision, and Mission
- Why You Need To Develop A Philosophy Of Ministry
- How To Take Notes While Reading The Bible
- 4 Strategies For Making A Daily Routine Stick
- My Current Philosophy Of Ministry
- Trying A New Bible Reading System
Every post on this list this month has been here before. Three different series are represented, Foundations Of Youth Ministry, How To Be A Great Communicator, and How To Develop A Daily Routine. With the addition of the Bible reading posts, the list represents many of my top posts of all time.
The month of April saw a more consistent flow of writing than March did, and for that I am thankful. My time seems to be in greater demand then ever before, and consistency is something I strive for daily. My goal for the coming months is to develop that consistency on the Deliberate Dads blog as well.
My favorite post from April was written at the end of the month, and is titled 4 Keys To Spiritual Health. This is a brief look at the dynamics of a healthy church, and how to create or maintain that health. I also enjoyed adding more content to my series on Establishing Spiritual Disciplines.
I’m looking forward to many of the articles I have slated for May. Some of them are book reviews that I am excited about. And many of them are topics that I see the need for in my personal life. I hope that they help you as well.
Have a great month!
