How To Buy A Quality Necktie – I don’t wear ties too often. A tight collar tends to make my neck feel chaffed. But I love the look of a good tie. 27 Things You Might Not Know About Christmas Vacation – One of my favorite holiday movies is Christmas Vacation, with Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid. This is by far the funniest movie I watch with my family each year. Here are several intriguing facts about the movie that you may not have known about this holiday classic. If you are interested in watching it, you can pick up a copy from Amazon.

Memorize Scripture: Titus 2:9-10

In what seems to be an odd shift to modern readers, Paul moves from instructions for the genders and moves on to slaves. And even though such slavery isn’t culturally applicable to our lives any longer, the principles are still very applicable.

See what Paul has to say in Titus 2:9-10:

Titus 2:9-10

Paul’s instructions concerning a slave’s attitude is definitely difficult to comprehend today. Even though there are still portions of the world where slavery is very much in practice, we don’t see it much in western civilization. Titus is told to address slaves and teach them how to act.

This may be in response to the slaves’ response to their freedom in Christ. Once they experienced that freedom, these Cretan slaves may have been rebellious towards their masters. Paul gives several instructions to Titus to pass on to the slaves in the community.

Paul gives five different commands concerning slaves in this passage.

Be subject to their masters

This is to be a voluntary decision on the part of the slave. This is to be a behavior prompted by the change in lifestyle as a result of being a Christian, and is to be a very submissive action. For us today, the principle applies: we are called to serve, no matter what our station in life. As believers, we should be willing to obey those in authority over us.

Which Profession Drinks The Most Coffee? – I found this infographic very interesting. And I’m confused where I fit it. Ministers aren’t listed, but writers are. I drink a lot of coffee, but I drink it black. So I don’t really fit in well in any of these categories. Regardless, it is very interesting.

If These Walls Could Talk – Very often, things we own gain a very sentimental value. Lysa TerKeurst has found a way to both remember and honor those values and the events in our lives they represent. This is very creative.

Beautiful Scotland – One of the places I would love to visit is Scotland. We have some friends who live there, and it would be incredible to visit them and their mission work one day. The countryside is beautiful, and this video gives some stunning views of the island.

European Coffee Capitals – We drink our coffee differently in America than they do in other places. Finding out how others drink their coffee is very interesting. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to spend some time in Costa Rica and Venezuela. I loved the difference in the way they drink coffee in those places, and have even adjusted my coffees to taste more like what I experienced there. This infographic gives a run down on three of the major coffee capitals in Europe.

Superheroes Reimagined As 16th Century Paintings – This is awesome! While the frilly collars are a bit much, the detail that this artist has included in these images is incredible. My favorites include Superman, Wonder Woman, and Darth Vader. Which is your favorite?

How Crayons Are Made – Although I wish this was more video and less still images, and would go into a bit more detail, I still found this pretty fascinating. My kids think I really do know everything when I tell them I know how crayons are made.

Starbucks Cup Art – I am not a fan of Starbucks coffee. I find it over-roasted, and over-priced. One of my favorite phrases is, “Friends don’t let friends drink Starbucks.” However, some people have created some pretty cool works of art out of a Starbucks cup. Check out the Pinterest page too.

Common MythConceptionsSnopes.com is one of the places I turn to to debunk myths on the Internet. But this infographic shows several common and persistent myths that we believe.

Don’t Waste Your Two Most Productive Hours – The past few years, I’ve discovered that my more productive time of day has shifted to the mornings, and particularly the early morning hours. But I still struggle with checking email and doing other mindless tasks during this time.

The Caffeine Causality Loop – This is reality some days. Most days, I don’t drink more than a cup, maybe two. But other days, pots and post aren’t enough to help me out. And then this happens.

Stop Motion Bookcase – This is one of the coolest stop motion videos I have ever seen. The bookcases look pretty awesome. The concept is great. And the book he reads at the end to the children is perfect.

17 Years Later, LEGOs Wash Ashore – In 1997, a container ship lost a massive amount of the cargo it was carrying. One of those containers contained 4.8 million LEGO pieces. These pieces have been washing up on the beaches near Cornwall, UK, ever since. This is a simply fascinating article.
